fso-gpsd software package provides gpsd subset compatibility daemon for the freesmarpthone.org frameworkd, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fso-gpsd
fso-gpsd is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fso-gpsd package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fso-gpsd *
You will get with fso-gpsd package name, version, architecture and description in a table
